Karisa: Pardon me if I sound like a broken record from our experience last week at The Continental... awesome food, eh service. The 'awesome food' part is great; the 'eh service' thing is not a trend I'm a fan of. This week in sub-par service, our server was actually trying too hard. She was loud and boisterous, and failed miserably at trying to connect with us. I wouldn't typically fault her for this, but she also forgot our coffee - then made it sound like we never placed the order. If you forget something (or make a mistake) admit it and move on, that's all I ask. I'll appreciate your honesty. I will not appreciate you trying to make it seem like my fault. Okay, rant over. On to food.
Food. Oh the food. Oh the vegetarian options in food. This brunch menu is made to please herbivores and omnivores alike (I bet a carnivore could be pretty happy too!) In my quest to branch out beyond the benedict, I ordered The Hot Mess. Mostly for the name, but also for the delicious soundingness of veggie chili over buttermilk biscuits and over-easy eggs. Even the cilantro sour cream didn't scare me away (I'm one of those people that thinks cilantro tastes like soap). Plus a potato pancake and veggie sausage? Done. While the dish was not much of a mess (this is a plus), it was hot, plentiful, and incredibly good. I went into brunch hungry and barely made a dent in this abundance of food. The Mill is a winner, I'll just hope this eh service trend doesn't continue.

Andrea: This week was an extra special brunch because my Dad was in town for the weekend (and Father's Day). We spent the morning at Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens so I got a recommendation from a co-worker for this brunch destination on the North Side. The food at the Mill on MacArthur was fabulous! Dad was super excited about their chorizo egg stack special but unfortunately they were out. I was *this close* to getting the chocolate chip waffle but decided on the Northside Benedict. I'm sure the waffle would have been yummy, but the benedict was a definite winner. Excellent red pepper hollandaise, flaky buttery biscuit under the eggs...my only minor complaint was about the potato pancake, which had a slightly stronger rosemary flavor than I would have liked. For our beverages, I had the bellini and Dad had the
bloody mary (with pickle vodka) in an homage to Michele. The fresh peach puree in the bellini was nice but maybe a little too chunky. I am looking forward to another visit to the Mill, hopefully again with Dad, very soon!
Michele: [this is actually Karisa]: Michele is out hiking the Colorado Trail and will be gone for several weeks. A particularly sad situation when a drink so perfect for her, a "Pickle Bloody Mary", is on the menu. We miss you Michele! Have fun and hike safely :)

Food - Very Good. Lots of vegetarian options. Many tasty-sounding items including several sweet choices. Biscuits were a highlight. Big portions and well-priced.
Service - Fair. See coffee debacle above. Waitress was quite friendly but was maybe trying too hard?
Ambiance - Good. Tables weren't too close together. Lots of natural light in the front of the restaurant. Outdoor seating (although no alcohol outside - a drawback).
Coffee - Fair. Karisa's coffee was a little burnt. Andrea's was pretty run-of-the-mill (hehe...I made a joke) but definitely drinkable. Had to order the coffee twice before we got our cups.
Mimosa - Good. Standard mimosa with a good champagne to OJ ratio.
Bloody Mary - Good (by MIchele's standards), Very Good (by Dad's standards). Made with pickle vodka and could have even had extra pickle flavor if it were prepared as written on the list of specials. Slightly spicy with good tomato presence.
